The Day of the Dead is a very important holiday and tradition in Mexico. Because the timing tends to overlap with Halloween, we like to take the opportunity to explore it! Once you explore the below links and videos, and if you have time over the weekend, you can try one of my favorite activities for this time of year: decorating sugar cookies to look like the Mexican sugar skulls!
Sometimes you can even find the skull cookie cutter stamps in stores (I have some in my classroom!). Next year, come find me in my classroom and I will lend you one!
